Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: 75-Year-Old Nattu Kaka On Being Unable To Shoot, 'An Artist Wants To Work Till Death, Pray I Get A Chance To Work Again'
Actor Ghanshyam Nayak who essays the character of Nattu Kaka on TV's most popular comedy show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, is highly upset these days. The actor who is known for spreading a smile on his fans' faces with his interactions with his owner, Jethaa Lal (Dilip Joshi), is sorely missing being on set. After Maharastra Goverment issued the clause that senior citizens will not be allowed to shoot on the set, even after unlock, Ghanshyam Nayak, has been relegated to his house. The actor who is in his 70's now wants to go back to the sets and resume shooting.

Talking to us exclusively Ghanshyam Nayak says, "The decision of not allowing senior citizens to shoot is absolutely wrong. Because an artist wants to work till death. If the person's heatlh is permitting him to work, age should not come as a barrior. And now when I am unable to shoot for Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashamah and I'm sitting at home, it makes me feel somebody has given me a punishment. I really request the authorities to rework on their decision and allow us to shoot."

He added, "Now when I see my onscreen family of Gokuldham society have started shooting for the fresh new episodes I feel so bad that I am not there with them and I miss each one of them so much. My producer Asit Modi also wants me to continue the show but he also can't help it as nobody is is bigger than the goverment. The telecast which is on air right now was shot before this whole lockdown happened and the scenes which they are shooting currently will go on air, soon. And I am sure the audience will miss me. Everyday I pray to God that even I should get a chance to work again".

Meanwhile we also brought to you that national award winner Surekha Sikri's reaction on the decision of senior citizens being not allowed on the sets. She had called it unfair and said, "It's a very unfair decision. They haven't given a thought to practical thoughts. Since this lockdown has started I have not been able to work for many months. Due to which I am unable to generate any income for myself or my family. As a result of this, there is a complete stop on all my shooting. There were offers and people wanted to shoot with me but I couldn't give my time."
